Ooft — big, heavy hitter chard here from Central Coast. Full of buttery tropical fruits, kiwi, pineapple, with touches of apricot and lemon beneath it. Something floral lingering in the background. Rich palate, creamy texture, but some freshness bringing it together
Brothers Bob and Jim Varner of Varner Wines are identical twins - one studied oenology (wine) at university, the other studied biology. Together, they make the perfect duo. At Varner Wines in Central Coast, California, the Varners farm organically. Chardonnay is a chameleon grape, taking on different flavours depending on where it's grown. Over in California, the valleys absorb a cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean which drifts over to the vineyards. This acts as protection from the hot summer sun, giving the wine a more elegant flavour.
